In the week children should have been returning to school after the Christmas break, I was reminded of a couple of days I spent at Cartmel Priory School in Cumbria, back when life was relatively normal.
It was June 2019, the weather was glorious and the pupils and staff were enjoying the last few weeks of term before the summer holidays. What I witnessed in those two days brought back very happy memories of my own days at school… some years ago.
The images below illustrate the wide and varied curriculum young people study in preparation for their future at this fantastic school. It was magical and I wished I was their age again.
The events of the last year only go to show how important education is but also the value of human interaction, building relationships and life experience. The sooner all of us can get back to normal, the better. We all need it, especially our children who have missed so much. These photographs are a reminder how wonderful life can be and I thank the pupils and staff at Cartmel Priory School for making me so welcome. Happy days are ahead of us!
