When I photograph a wedding I don’t work from a script. I simply turn up at the time required and record what I see before me. I aim to capture the emotion of the day and the moments that happen between people. Some of those moments are very obvious, others more subtle. I’m a people watcher and I study body language, trying to determine when and if a ‘moment’ will happen and be ready when it does. Every wedding is different and sometimes those moments can be few and far between. As you will see below, Sarah + Tom’s wedding had an abundance of moments!
The couple were married at Crosthwaite Church in Keswick before heading up to Littletown Farm in the Newlands Valley for their reception. It is fair to say the most popular accessory of the day was an umbrella but if anything the wet weather added to their wedding.
The rain stopped briefly as guests travelled between the church and the farm so we went down to the shore of Derwentwater for some portraits. I love to photograph couples with a Lake District backdrop and later on in the day the sun decided to come out and I had another opportunity to get some extra pictures before the dancing began.
Thank you Sarah + Tom for allowing me to photograph your wedding and I hope you enjoy reliving the love and laughter of your day with a little help from these photographs x
