Melissa + Stuart

The weather forecast for Mel + Stuart’s Wedding didn’t look too promising but on the morning of their big day it was surprisingly pleasant. I met up with Mel and her entourage in the morning as she was preparing with Helen Townson from Definitions Beauty & Make Up. The ceremony took place at Kirkby Stephen Parish Church, which I have to say is beautiful! I remember photographing The Queen there many years ago just outside the cloisters on a visit to Cumbria. Parking was interesting to say the least because of visitors to Appleby Horse Fair. When I came out of church I found several of those visitors relaxing on the bonnet of my car eating chips… We managed to get some portraits taken before the clouds began to threaten so we decided to head back to Kendal to The Castle Green Hotel. Tim Rumney and the team at the Castle Green have weddings off to a fine art and I must say a big thank you (once again!) to Christine the wedding organiser who keeps things running incredibly smoothly. The guests enjoyed a wedding breakfast created by  chef Justin Woods and his staff before the speeches. The evening entertainment was provided by Kendal band Catch 22 who were excellent. Mel + Stuart were great fun and thoroughly enjoyed their day and I wish them both a very happy future together x
