Although we didn’t know each ether beforehand, Laura + Simon live on the same street as me. As a consequence, I knew a fair number of the guests at their Lakeside Hotel Wedding. The bridal preparations took place at the rather delightful Devonshire House in the picturesque village of Cartmel on the Furness peninsula. It was a lovely place to take pictures although I did bump my head on the low ceiling a couple of times! I then met up with Simon and his best man Phil at the hotel where the ceremony was due to take place. It was my first wedding at The Lakeside Hotel and I hope I get chance to return very soon. It is situated right on the south west shore of Windermere and has spectacular panoramic views of the lake. After the ceremony we went outside for some portraits before the reception in the new Windermere Suite. Kendal band Catch 22 provided the entertainment for the night but I was particularly impressed with Laura + Simon’s choice of song for their first dance “Drops of Jupiter’ by Train.
